TURF: 23rd APSPR Corona Extra Pro Surf Circuit Event #3; Marias Beach, Rincon, Puerto Rico; March 10th, 2013. ENERGY: The typical East Coast surf contest brings out a whole range of emotions - excitement, frustration, disappointment, bliss, anticipation, nervousness - but genuine fear is usually not very high on that list. Which is exactly why Event #3 of the 2013 Corona Extra Pro Surf Circuit was not your typical East Coast surf contest. On March 10th, with a major swell pushing in powerful 10- to 15-foot faces across Rincon, Puerto Rico, it was a struggle to even run the contest at all. But, luckily, the Corona Extra Pro Surf Circuit had a bold group of competitors and a quick-thinking event staff. And since Contest #3 of the circuit also results in the crowning of the season champions, everyone was determined that the show must go on.

Maria Kuzmovich, How did you get involved with art? Growing up my dad was always creating really cool stuff so it's only natural that I try as well. I started with drawing and sketching and didn't start until later. Once I started surfing and traveling is when I feel my art really go going. I started painting waves, palm trees, and scenes that I would see on my surf trips. I try to paint paintings that are bright & happy. Most of them remind me of somewhere I have been or want to go.

A week before our summer surf camp in Daytona Beach began, the Pure Life Surf School trailer was stolen, including all of our surfboards and tents. Luckily, the trailer was found will all the surfboards and surf school went on! What a week!
